In an effort to boost food security stocks and provide price support to farmers, Bangladeshi government has decided to buy 200,000 MT of rice from the domestic market by February next year. Bangladesh has fixed the procurement price at $213 PMT, up $12 PMT from the previous price. Bangladesh last month scrapped an international tender to buy 50,000 MT of non-basmati parboiled rice.
