CBOT Rice Review: Rough Rice Lower Wednesday

March rice ended lower Wednesday in a mild correction following Tuesday’s rally. The market had traded higher in overnight trade but was unable to sustain gains, and prices were lower throughout Wednesday’s session.

Traders said activity was light, but noted selling of March calls. Commodities in general were bearish Wednesday, with losses in wheat, soybeans and corn thanks in part to a stronger dollar. March rice ended down 7 1/2 cents to $14.37 1/2 per cwt, and May rice settled down 7 1/2 cents to $14.66.
