DR. P. Pillaiyar, M.Sc.. (Ag.), Ph.D. (Chemical Engineering) is an international consultant for rice processing technologies and also a published author of several books on post-harvest, rice processing, rice bran oil and parboiled rice production technologies.
 
Dr.. Pillaiyar has published 150 scientific papers on rice preservation, desiccation, drying, milling, storage, parboiling, cooking, bran use and quality test, and is a winner of several prestigious awards in India and globally.
 
Patents : Production of white crystalline parboiled rice; energy saving parboiling process; with four new processes and devices for parboiling under process.
 
Dr.. Pillaiyar has an experience of over 47 years in rice research and technology and is now a consultant in the M.S.. Swaminathan Research Foundation, India, and working on the establishment of a rice bio-park at Myanmar (a project funded by the External Affairs Ministry, Government of India).
