Farmers Protest Against US Rice Subsidies

Diverse members of the Latin American Confederation of Rice Producing
Organizations (CELARROZ) have signed a document against the subsidies that
grants the United States to its rice dealers, since this way they will
continue distorting the market.

In the document CELARROZ members asked for an elevation of the common
external tariff individually consolidated to the maximum by the Commerce
World Organization.

Latin American Confederation of Rice Producing Organizations is conformed by
Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua,
Uruguay and Venezuela.
