By Oryza News on June 04,2007

In Vietnam, prices were unchanged Friday on dwindling export supply and strong demand from exporters. One exporter said prices could rise next week as they expect to win the right to supply bulk of the Philippines' new import requirements.

The Philippine National Food Authority will seek offers Wednesday for the supply of 300,000 MT of rice. Vietnam is a major supplier of the Philippines' rice import requirement, which has been pegged around 1.6 million MT this year.

Vietnam's 5% broken was offered unchanged Friday at $305/ton, FOB, Ho Chi Minh City, while its 10% broken grade was offered at $300 PMT.
