Indicative rice export prices in Thailand rose sharply in the week to Monday as tight export supplies continued to boost prices.

According to the exporters, export restrictions in Vietnam and India will continue to boost Thai prices in the near term.

Thai 100% grade B was indicated Monday at $620-$625 PMT, FOB, 5% broken at $610-$615 PMT, FOB and parboiled at $660-$670 PMT, FOB. These prices are higher by $40-$50 from price indications given a week earlier.

Thailand is the world's largest exporter of rice.
