Thailand Rice Export Prices Higher On Limited Supplies

By news desk on February 06,2008

Physical rice export prices in Thailand were higher Wednesday from Friday, with prices being generally boosted by dwindling domestic supplies.

The Thailand government is also planning to release 500,000 MT of rice from its stockpiles this month to ease a supply shortage that may help cool the surging Thai rice prices.

Thai 100% grade B was offered at $435-$450 PMT, FOB; 5% broken was at $425-$435 PMT, FOB and parboiled 100% sortexed was at $450-$460 PMT, FOB. These prices are higher by around $10-$15 from prices offered Friday.
