In Vietnam, rice export prices were slightly up the past few days amid expected high global demand for rice in the coming months.

Indonesia and the Philippines, two of Vietnam's main buyers, have purchased more than 1 million tons of Vietnamese rice via tenders the past few weeks for deliveries in June.

Friday, the Vietnam Food Association set export prices for 5% broken rice at $305-$310 PMT, free on board at Saigon Port, versus $305 PMT Wednesday.

The 10% broken rice was offered at $303-$305 PMT from around $300 PMT Wednesday.

The harvest of the winter-spring crop has peaked in the rice-producing Mekong Delta provinces.
