Thai Rice:Prices Unchanged Amid Steady Demand,Strong Currency

Thai physical rice prices were offered mostly unchanged in quiet trade in the week to Monday amid a strong baht and steady demand as exporters secure supply to fulfill outstanding contracts.

Thai 100% grade B was offered steady Monday at $327-$330 PMT, FOB, 5% broken was quoted $2-$3 PMT less at $318-$320 PMT; parboiled 100% sortexed was offered unchanged at $327-$330 PMT.

The stronger currency will also prevent local prices from falling sharply.
