In Vietnam, exporters based in Ho Chi Minh City said prices were boosted mainly by limited export supply amid expected fresh demand from the Philippines and Indonesia.

The Philippines is likely to buy up to 415,000 MT of Vietnam rice based on offers made at an auction held last week. Indonesia is expected to buy more rice than earlier announced to keep local prices from rising sharply, an exporter said.

Vietnam's 5% broken was offered Wednesday at $300-$305 PMT, FOB, up by $5 from last Friday; 25% broken was offered unchanged at $285 PMT.
