Thai Prices May Rise On Expected Fresh Demand

In Thailand, prices are likely to rise on new demand from Iran, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Earlier this week, Thailand agreed to sell 200,000 MT of 15% broken rice to Indonesia. Thailand is also expected to supply around 155,000 MT of 15% and 25% broken rice to the Philippines.

Thai 100% grade B was offered Friday at $329-$330 PMT, FOB, Bangkok, 5% broken at $325 PMT while parboiled 100% sortexed was offered at $325-$330 PMT. These prices were unchanged from prices offered Thursday.
