CBOT Rice Review: Rough Rice Futures End Lower Friday

CBOT rice ended lower Friday, joining most other commodities in declines on a stronger dollar and weaker equities.

Analysts say that the market has stabilized following sharp recent losses, but that more demand is needed to rally prices. The dollar and equities were key bearish factors Friday. March rice ended down 9 1/2 cents to $14.08 1/2 per cwt and May rice ended down 6 cents to $14.39 1/2. The March contract lost 11 1/2 cents on the week.
