CBOT Rice Review: Up; Recoups Tuesday's Losses

By news desk on March 01,2007

Chicago Board of Trade rough rice futures ended higher Wednesday, recovering from Tuesday's setback on old-crop spreading and fund buying in new-crop futures.

March rice ended 17 1/2 cents higher at $10.22 per hundredweight, May rice finished 14 1/2 cents higher at $10.52, and the November future settled 13 cents higher at $11.24.

Large deliveries posted against the nearby March future attracted buyers in the nearby contract, with speculative funds continuing to buy new crop futures amid longer term bullish fundamental outlooks.
