Domestic Situation: Domestic milled rice price quotes were steady in the south and in California. By-products were uneven in the south, mostly steady, and steady to 5.00 higher in California. Harvest is under way in Arkansas. It is too early for any real determination on crop quality but early reports state that the field yields and milling quality are very good.
 
In the south, long grain rice prices were steady, quoted mostly at 19.00-19.50; medium grain prices were steady, quoted mostly at 22.00-25.00; parboiled rice prices were steady, quoted mostly from 20.00-23.50; second heads were steady; brewers were steady. Rice by-products: Offers for rice bran were unevenly 5.00 higher to 5.00 lower, with tight spot supplies (Arkansas bran mostly 90.00-95.00); millfeed was steady; hulls with limited sales were steady.
 
In California, medium grain milled rice prices were steady, quoted mostly from 25.00-26.00; short grain prices were steady; second heads were mostly steady quoted mostly from 17.00-17.50; brewers were mostly steady, quoted mostly at 15.50. Rice bran was 5.00 higher; rice hulls were steady, quoted mostly at 15.00.
