Rice Prices In Qatar Increase Following Limited Supply

Prices of various varieties of rice In Qatar and other parts of the gulf region are likely to increase substantially in view of a massive rise in demand for rice in the domestic markets India and Pakistan which are the two main suppliers of rice in the gulf.

According to importers, consignment of parboiled rice from southern India, is likely to cost $500 PMT instead of $425 previously while the Basmati rice are likely to go up from the current $900 PMT to $1,075 PMT in the coming days.
