Iran Aiming For Self Sufficiency In Rice

After reaching self-sufficiency in the production of wheat not so long ago, Iran is now plannng to reach self-sufficiency in the production of rice in the next three years.

Iran's program to reach self-sufficiency in rice is based on the farming of high yielding rice varieties, changing of rice eating habits, using advanced machineries in paddies and educating farmers with the latest research & findings.
