Venezuela: New rice variety will Double yield

Investigators of Venezuela have worked in a new variety of rice that could duplicate the domestic production that at the moment reaches an average of 5 MT per hectare.

The seed denominated "Centauro", which is resistant to the fungus pyricularia was developed within the National Plan of Genetic Rice Improvement of Venezuela and is predicted to adapt it to the soil and climate of Venezuela.
