Venezuela Probes Rice Exports

Vice President of Venezuela has said that the government is investigating an allegation made by Ultimas Noticias daily regarding rice exports to Colombia.

A note published by the Caracas-based paper on Sunday referred to a "guiso" (dirty, shady business) in rice exports to the neighboring country.

In line with due legal procedures, the Bolivarian Government is investigating this and results will be presented to relevant authorities and the national public in a few days, an official communique said.
