Venezuela Introduces New rice variety Centauro

The National Institute of Agricultural Investigations of Venezuela (INIA) and the National Foundation of Rice (Fundarroz) within the National Project of Genetic Improvement of Rice of Venezuela (Pnmga), today were launched officially a new rice variety denominated Centauro.

The rice “Centauro” has shown a good agronomic operation in the different zones rice area zones cereal in the country, high performance, good quality of grain and strong resistance to the disease that causes the grisea pyricularia fungus, that affects the development of rice crops.
