Peru: Drought in the department of Lambayeque

As per the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Lambayeque, (Peru), the investment valued in 30 million USD for rice sowing is in risk due to drought that affects this department, where have been seeded more than 35,000 hectares of rice.

The authorities will have to face this emergency because esteem that if precipitations are not registered in March, all agricultural campaign 2006-2007 of Lambayeque would be affected. At the moment most of the rice crops is in stage of fertilization.
