Panama: Arrives second rice shipment

According to information from the Farming Authorities of Panama, yesterday has been received the second rice shipment of 23,000 MT. In a declaration of the Ministry of Farming Development (MIDA) is indicated that the rice from USA was comprises in the agreement of the import of 1.4 million cwt that the government of Panama made last year to guarantee supplying of the cereal at national level.

The person in charge of operations of supplier “The Rice Company”, said that the rice will be distributed among different mills of Panama by the National Association of Rice Mills, (ANALMO). According to MIDA the monthly rice consumption in Panama is of approximately 478,000 cwt.
