Mexico: Rice And Maize Plantations Update

The government of the State, by means of the Secretariat of Rural Development along with the mayor Amado de Jesus Montero impels the automation and modernization of the agricultural sector. Thanks to this have been allowed that in certain zones of Santiago de Ixcuintla two annual harvests in the cultures of maize and rice.

In the Sauta agricultural zone, in a surface of 1,500 hectares, one obtains a maize harvest in autumn-winter, and one of rice in spring-summer, generating hundreds of jobs during the year.


Once retired the maize harvest, the land is prepared for the culture of the rice, where they are generated of seven to eight tons by hectares.
