Argentina: Strategic rice plan in Corrientes

The province of Corrientes (Argentina) where rice is farming on 80,000 hectares, aspires to intensify the seeded surface with 50,000 hectares more and also to diversified into new markets.

Corrientes has as target increase rice exports to 1.200.000 MT. For this reason from the Ministry of Production, Work and Tourism, jointly with the equipment of Corrientes Export, are tried to open new markets.

The Federation of Argentina Rice Entity (FEDENAR), has elaborated a "Strategic Argentine Sectorial Rice Plan" for the period between 2007 and 2011.
