IIRI To Partner Thailand In Rice Strain Development

Philippines-based International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) have signed an agreement with Thailand in the field of rice strain development.

Under the terms of the agreement, Thailand and IRRI would in future forge ahead in varied fields of cooperation including technology transfer, personnel development, exchange of rice genetics, the development of rice production technology and rice strain development.
 
Thailand is the largest exporter of rice in the world while IRRI is the oldest and largest international agricultural research institute in Asia. It is an autonomous, non-profit rice research and training organisation with staff based in 14 countries in Asia and Africa.
