Spain: 1st Rice World Congress in Cullera

During two days, the city of Cullera in the Valencian Community (Spain) will become the scene of the 1st Rice World Congress. During the congress will be made multidiscipline meetings relative to rice from their gastronomical´s slope, to the economic, historical, health, feed etc.

Also scientific encounter will be organized to debate the importance of the cereal, the most used by man and which comprises the basic diet of about 40 countries (about 1,800 million people).

Spain has consumed 247,000 MT of rice last year (approximately about 5.7 kilos per person/year).
