Vietnam To Supply Over 1 Mil MT To Philippines

Vietnam's National Food Authority, NFA has agreed to supply 1 million to 1.5 million MT of rice to the Philippines assuring the Philippines enough supply to meet its domestic shortfall during the lean production months from July to September.

While an inter-government deal with Vietnam is under consideration, most of the country's rice import requirement will be met through auctions.

The Philippines is a major buyer of rice in Asia, importing mostly from Vietnam.
