Thailand: Government To Keep A Check On Stocks

After reports of theft at rice warehouses across Thailand, the country Commerce Ministry has decided to established ad-hoc teams who would be inspecting rice stockpiles gathered under the government's market intervention program.

The teams will focus mainly on checking the quantity of rice in the warehouses rather than its quality.

The inspection follows the discovery that quantities of rice under the government's rice market intervention program are missing from warehouses.
