Sri Lanka To Export Pakistan Basmati Rice Through TDAP Certificate

Sri Lankan Customs authorities will now accept the “certificate of origin” issued by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) for the export of basmati rice to Sri Lanka under zero-duty facility.

According to a TDAP official Tuesday, the certificate of origin will be issued by the Authority on first-come-first-serve (FCFS) basis till the entire quantity (5500 MT of basmati rice) for the year 2007 is exhausted. Sri Lankan public sector agency will import 500 MT of basmati rice duty-free.
