Seoul is likely to resume its halted rice shipments to Pyongyang in late May after the two Koreas discuss the issue at a meeting to be held next month.

South Korea requested the North take appropriate steps to fulfill its agreement made in the six-party talks in Beijing last month as a pre-condition.

Pyongyang demanded 400,000 MT of rice and 300,000 MT of fertilizer for this year.
