Philippines To Buy Bulk Of 422,701 MT From Vietnam

Philippines National Food Authority (NFA), which held a tender last week has bought 422,701 MT of rice, largely to be sourced from Vietnam, for delivery between January to March.

The import by Philippines is largely seen as a cover to counter any shortfall in local supplies and meet the country's local requirements for the food staple next year.

The Philippines imports rice to shore up domestic supply during the lean production months from July to September.
