The Philippine National Food Authority has bought a combined 132,500 metric tons of rice from Vietnam, Thailand and Pakistan, a senior agency official said Friday.

The volume represents a "re-order" based on offers made by nine suppliers at a tender held Feb. 28, at which the authority bought 580,000 MT of rice. The rice is of the 25% broken quality, and will be shipped between June and July, the official said.
