Philippines To Revise 2008 Output Target

According to Philippines Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap, the Philippines is likely to revise its 2008 paddy rice production target due to the surging costs of inputs such as fertilizers.

"We are going to study whether to retain or revise the target," Yap told reporters, referring to the country's paddy rice production target of 17.3 million MT for the year. 

The target is higher than last year's output of 16.2 million MT.
