The Punjab Agriculture Department has formulated a strategy for imparting necessary training to the paddy growers about the preparation of nurseries and cultivation of paddy crop, aimed at attaining the fixed target in the province. Under the programme, the rice growers would be imparted necessary training before the sowing of paddy nurseries and about various verities of paddy in Punjab.

The Agriculture Department has directed the paddy growers to refrain from growing paddy nurseries before May 20 in their respective areas because under the Pest Ordinance, sowing of paddy nurseries was prohibited throughout Punjab.
