Pakistan To Develop Drought Tolerant Rice varieties

Pakistan rice researchers and scientists will focus on developing long grain disease-resistant and drought-tolerant, high yield varieties of rice which could survive water shortage. Rice cultivation area is not increasing production and the solution lies in increasing per acre yield. The agriculture minister told the workshop that rice exports have increased to 1.21 billion dollars, which is a matter of satisfaction. He pledged to increase rice exports up to 2 billion dollars.
