Pakistan: Domestic Rice Prices On An Upswing

Domestic prices of rice and other essential commodities in Pakistan have risen in the past few weeks because of slow arrivals from upcountry markets and partly due to holding back of stocks by local commercial houses.

According to latest reports,  millers were likely to resume the crushing season from Nov 20, and local stuff is expected to reach the market by the first week December but it is not certain whether prices would fall from the current levels as millers are expected to keep prices at current levels.
