Malaysia Offers Palm Oil For Rice

The Malaysian government has reiterated that it is again open to proposals for bartering palm oil in exchange for rice.

Malaysia had originally mooted the idea in May this year, when Malaysia was building up its stockpile of rice to volumes equivalent to three months of requirements.

Malaysia, a net importer of rice, purchases more than 800,000 MT annually from neighboring countries, mostly from Thailand.
