Malaysia Finalizes 200,000 MT Thai Rice Deal

Malaysia's monopoly rice importer Padiberas Nasional Berhad, or Bernas, has finalized the purchase of 200,000 MT of Thai rice after negotiations that were deadlocked over the price.

Exporters in Thailand were offering rice at current international prices of around $1,000 PMT, but both sides are believed to have struck a deal at a price below that level.
