Malayasia: Government To Review Import Policy

Malayasia's Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry is studying whether to retain the rice import monopoly currently held by Padiberas Nasional Berhad (Bernas).

The monopoly agreement between the government and Bernas comes to an end on Jan 11, 2011.

Government sources have decided to gather feedback from wholesalers and factory owners before making the decision.
