Vice President Jusuf Kalla hailed the cooperation between Indonesia`s Artha Graha Network and Sichuan GuaHao Seed Industry (SGSI) which were ready to provide additional one million tons of rice to support the national rice supplies in 2007.
The signing of the agreement on the cooperation between the Indonesian and Chinese companies constituted an effort to settle the problem on the national rice supplies, the visiting vice president said here Sunday.
On Saturday night, an agreement on development of an integrated hybrid centre in Indonesia was signed by Arta Graha Network and SGSI witnessed by the vice president, Agriculture Minister Anton Apriyantono, National Logistic Agency (Bulog) Head Mustafa Abubakar, Mianyang Mayor Qiu Ming Jun and Artha Graha Group leader Tommy Winata.
Kalla said Indonesia should study from China whose population numbers 1.3 billion but has no problem with rice.
