Indonesia Rice Output To Reach 60.3 Mil MT

According to a recent forecast by the Indonesian Central Statistics Bureau, the country is expected to produce 60.3 million MT of rice this year, up from an earlier forecast of 59.9 million MT.

Indonesia's new 2008 rice production estimate marks a 5.4 % increase from 57.2 million MT produced last year. The bureau has attributed the higher output for the agricultural products to a lower rate of harvest failures and better weather conditions.
