Indonesia To Import Rice To Maintain Buffer Stock

Indonesia is looking to import rice either from Egypt,India, or China in order to maintain a buffer stock of 1 million MT of rice each year.

Indonesia ostensibly maintains a ban on rice imports, but the government frequently lifts the ban and mandates state-logistic agency, Bulog to procure imports if its stockpiles are depleted.
