Indonesian state logistics agency Bulog has bought 50,000 MT of Thailand rice at $333.25 PMT and 25,000 MT of Vietnam rice at $326.58 a MT from three trading houses, an official at the agency said on Monday.

The tender is part of the country's previously announced plans to import up to 1.5 million MT of rice this year in an effort to stabilise rice prices.

Initially, Bulog was seeking 50,000 and 25,000 MT of 15 percent broken grade rice from Thailand and Vietnam, respectively, and another 25,000 MT of 10 percent broken Pakistani rice in the auction.
