India’s Minister of State for External Affairs, Dr. Shashi Tharoor, has announced that the Indian Government will provide 25 buses to aid Liberia’s public transport sector and 96,060 metric tons of rice.

According to the minister, the Government of India had planned to allocate more rice to Liberia, but had not been able to do so owing to the unfavorable weather that adversely affected India’s harvest this year.

The Indian Member of Parliament added that his government had also prepared a package to offer training to the Liberia National Police (LNP) in areas recommended by the Government of Liberia.
