WFP To Assist Bangladesh In Procuring 500,000 MT

The World Food Program (WFP) has assured Bangladesh that the agency will take immediate steps to assist Bangladesh in procuring 500,000 MT of rice as soon as possible as the country is facing food deficit and rice prices have been on the upswing.

Representatives of the United Nations system and the Ambassador of Thailand made the assurances during separate meetings with Bangladesh caretaker government Foreign Affairs Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhgury.
