Bangladesh: Cyclone Sidr Damages Over 600,000 MT

According to preliminary reports, Cyclone Sidr in Bangaldesh which hit the country on November 15th has destroyed at least 600,000 MT of rice sown over an area of approximately 500,000 hectares.

Bagladeshi agriculture ministry is likely to revise upwards the estimate of rice lost in the cyclone, once a comprehensive report is prepared in the next 10 days.
