Bangladesh Seeks To Import 100,000 MT From Thailand

Bangladesh's Food and Disaster Management Ministry has issued two tenders to import 50,000 MT of non-basmati parboiled and 50,000 MT of white rice from Thailand to meet its emergency needs following the recent cyclone Sidr.

According to government reports, Bangladesh requires almost 1.7 million MT of grains, either through imports or grants, by the end of June, in the wake of the destructive cyclone.
