Bangladesh To Import 50,000 MT

Bangladeshi government has decided to import 50,000 MT of rice from the international market in order to meet its domestic requirements amid any possible crisis arising out of the recent floods.

There are also reports that the Bangladeshi government is likely to set an import target of 400,000 MT of rice for this year in order to create a buffer stock.

In the last fiscal, Bangladesh imported over 100,000 MT of rice to meet the local demand in the country.
