Nigeria Orders Import Of 500,000 MT Thai Rice

The Nigerian government has ordered the importation of 500,000 MT of rice from Thailand as part of the short-term measures to fight an impending food crisis in the country.

According to Governor of the south western state of Ogun, Segun Agagu, the imports are intended to damp the escalating price in the markets and make food available to the people.
