Liberia Government Increases Rice Prices

The Government of Liberia has affected an increment in the price of the nation’s staple, rice, on the Liberian market.

According to Deputy Information Minister Gabriel Williams, the increment is in response to the escalation of the world market price of the commodity. The Deputy Information Minister also indicated that the new price structure introduced by government is to ensure that the nation’s staple is not only available but also affordable.
